Yinson GreenTech and RMS Marine & Offshore Service (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to promote marine electrification and sustainable maritime solutions in Singapore.
The agreement, announced at Nor-Shipping 2025 in Norway, marks a collaboration to explore the use of electric vessels within Singapore’s Port Limits. Yinson GreenTech will oversee vessel operations and maintenance, while both parties will work together to leverage a Marine Digital Platform for enhanced logistics transparency and data-driven monitoring.
This partnership builds on a successful trial held on 23 May at Sudong Special Purpose Anchorage, where Yinson GreenTech’s Hydromover electric vessel effectively transported light cargo in a real-world setting. The demonstration underscored the vessel’s reliability and potential as a net-zero alternative for harbour craft.
Leaders from both companies emphasized the environmental and operational significance of the initiative. Jan-Viggo Johansen of Yinson GreenTech highlighted the step toward smarter, cleaner fleets, while RMS’s Cindy Fan stressed the alignment with global decarbonisation goals and the added value for customers seeking to reduce scope 3 carbon emissions.
