On 4 June the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) responded to a fire aboard the Liberia-flagged cargo vessel Morning Midas, located approximately 300 miles (483 km) southwest of Adak, Alaska.
The vessel, Morning Midas, was carrying 22 crew members, none of whom were reported injured fortunately. According to the Coast Guard, the ship’s crew was actively engaged in firefighting efforts. The Morning Midas was en route to Lazaro Cardenas, Mexico, based on data from LSEG.
In response to the emergency, the USCG has deployed aircrews and a cutter vessel to the scene with three other vessels already on site and providing assistance.
